Parent Presentation - Keeping Our Kids Cyber Safe @ MMJH Gym (6:30 p.m.. - 8:00 p.m.)
On October 12th 2022 Georgetown-Ridge Farm District, from 6:30 PM-8:00 PM, will be hosting a presentation of "Keeping Our Kids Cyber Safe" presentation. It will held at Mary Miller Junior High, 414 W. West St, Georgetown, IL 61846,
This will be the MMJH Parent Presentation. MMJH and GRHS parents are encourage to bring their child(ren) and their devices to this cutting edge training and exercise between Parents and Students.
All parents, guardians, Teachers, and Grandparents are welcome to attend as well.
Detective Richard Wistocki, nationally recognized High Technology Cyber Crimes Specialist, will be presenting proactive strategies, expert insight,, and invaluable resources designed to empower you to combat Cyber-Bullying and Sexting. Parents will go through how to have that technology talk with their child.
Presenting information and Strategies on:
- Understanding cyber-crime and that "No one online is anonymous."
- Understanding appropriate protocols when someone discloses issues of cyber-bullying and sexting.
- How to report criminal Cyber-Bullying.
- Understanding the dangers of many popular apps.

- Understand social media laws such as Harassment, Cyber-Stalking, and False Personation.
- How to empower yourself to report cyber crime and harassment.
- How to protect your "digital foot print" and understand what it means to your future.
