The Staff at MMJH has been "Crushing It".so to thank them for all they do, we wheeled around our treat cart. Today's treat was a Crush can with the option of adding some flavored coffee creamer to make it a "dirty soda". We even got the PC admin to stop in.
Students in Exploratory today put their problem-solving skills to the test with some challenging puzzles. It was great to see them working hard, thinking critically, and collaborating to reach their goals.

🐾 In Miss Cottrell’s Pet Ownership class, students are getting a taste of responsibility! Today they began researching what it takes to care for a new puppy—from food and toys to all the essentials a furry friend needs to stay happy and healthy. 🐶💙
We can’t wait to see the projects they put together as they learn what it really means to be a great pet owner!

Creativity is in full swing in Miss Franzen’s Sewing Exploratory! Students have been working hard on their monster creations, putting their sewing skills to the test while adding their own unique flair.

We wrapped up last week with Such Seeds Plot Day, where students had the opportunity to speak with business owners, colleges, and other agricultural organizations. Over 200 students from across the section joined us at our plot at GRHS!
We kicked off this week with officer visits from our Illinois FFA state team and Section 18 FFA officers. They shared an awesome lesson about how much farmers depend on Mother Nature, and how what may seem like a setback can actually be a new path toward reaching your goals.
On Tuesday, our students headed to Catlin Junior High School to compete in dodgeball, and they did amazing as the only full junior high team there!
And Wednesday, they were off to LTS to work with the same students they faced in dodgeball, focusing on problem-solving and sharpening their leadership skills.
We are so proud of the hard work, energy, and enthusiasm our students are putting into these opportunities!

Mrs. Balgeman's Spiral Skills class is playing Monopoly as it shows what the Gilded Age was like since one player is trying to take over everything and pushing others out. During the Gilded Age, big business leaders like Rockefeller and Carnegie did the same thing by controlling whole industries, setting prices, and becoming super rich. This made it hard for smaller businesses and regular people to compete, which caused a lot of unfair situations.
