Happy Election Day, everyone! Yesterday, our kindergarteners learned all about what it means to vote and be citizens. Kindergarten classes voted on, which was better breakfast or lunch. Mr. McCorkle and Mr. Barth debated in the morning, and classes voted in the afternoon. It was a very close race and lunch won by a narrow margin of only 2 votes!

Students in Mrs. Davis’s 2nd grade have been working hard on 2-digit addition with regrouping. Today, they were able to work with partners to complete their homework. Students are helping each other on math facts when needed, using math vocabulary in their conversations and some of them are definitely little teachers in the making! Keep up the good work, 2nd grade!

Students in Miss Scott’s class participated in a Tableau yesterday. They analyzed the emotions displayed by the main character in the book “That Book Woman” and worked together to act out those emotions to gain a deeper understanding of how the main character’s feelings toward reading evolved throughout the text.
