Georgetown Polce Department Press Release On 11/06/2022 at approximately 3:30 PM, Georgetown Police Department received information of a threat against Georgetown Ridge Farm High School students. Due to the nature of the threat and to allow the threat to be properly investigated, school officials made a decision to cancel classes at all Georgetown Ridge Farm CUSD4 schools. The Georgetown Police Department has continued to investigate the threat throughout the day and night on 11/06 & 11/07. During the course of the investigation, it has been discovered the threat was initiated by a juvenile who lives in another state. The social media post of the threat that was seen and shared was made using a false profile. The social media post falsely depicted a student at Georgetown - Ridge Farm CUSD4 making racially threatening comments. The persons who created and were involved in this threat have been identified. Due to all subjects involved being juvenile’s, no further information will be released. Once completed, the investigation will be turned over to the Vermilion County State’s Attorney for possible charges.

Reminder! Parent/Teacher Conferences are today and tomorrow from 4 to 7. If you have an elementary or junior high student, please call your building office if you don't have an appointment and would like one. Parents of high school students do not need an appointment and can "walk in" to visit with a teacher. Time slots are 15 minutes. Thank you!

Tomorrow, Thursday October 6th Pine Crest will be hosting our sticker shop that occurs the first Thursday of every month. Students can buy 2 stickers for 25 cents to bling out their water bottles, trapper keepers, or notebooks. Come down to the Title 1 room to get your sticker on!

Reminder: Students are not allowed to bring any medication to school to take it on their own without a written doctor's order and consent signed by a parent /guardian, including over the counter medications. Also, students are not allowed to have cough drops at school. Cough drops are also considered a medication and they are a choking hazard. Do not send your child with cough drops, over the counter medication, or prescription medication (without proper paperwork through the school nurse) to school. If you have any questions, please contact your school nurse at your building.

Hey Parents! We are excited to be partnering with Gateway Family Services to help address the mental health needs of our students at GRF. They will have 9 week groups, only taking place on Wednesdays when school is in session, that will focus on strategies for navigating some of the tough things in life. The mobile dentist will be at Pine Crest on November 1st. Dental forms went home with each student at the end of the year last year and were given out at registration. Dental screenings are required for Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, 6th Grade, and 9th Grade. If you would like your child to be seen and have not yet completed a dental form, turn one in by the end of this week. Forms are available in the front office at Pine Crest.
