The GRHS scholastic bowl team won their pool and ended up placing 4th in the VVC tournament last night. Liam Courtwright earned All Conference honors with his 35 tossups answered during VVC matches. Maddie Digby and Cale Cavanaugh each answered 6 tossups during pool play last night earning their spot on the All VVC Tournament Team. Congratulations!




Look for the Caught You Being Kind cards that came home with each student. All week, parents, teachers, students, and staff should catch each other being kind and fill the Wall of Kindness! On Friday, students with a Caught You Being Kind card will be entered into a prize drawing!

MMJH Scholastic Book Fair

Students in Mrs. Davis’s class planted radish seeds a few weeks ago. They conducted an experiment to see how the plants would respond in the sunlight and in darkness. Students had the responsibility of watering their plants daily and checking to see how they were doing!








Kindness Week:
From Monday, March 3 to Friday, March 7, everyone in GRF is invited to join Kindness Week! We’ll all focus on being kind and noticing others being kind too. Parents, students, teachers, and staff can give out Caught You Being Kind cards to anyone showing kindness. Each school will have a "Wall of Kindness" to share all the kind things happening at home and school. At the end of the week, students with a Caught You Being Kind card will be entered into a prize drawing!

This week, students in Miss Cavanaugh's 8th grade ELA classes conducted a mock trial!
Students had to use forensic evidence from a lab in Miss Franzen's science class, and integrate textual evidence to prove their stances. During the mock trial, students learned how to professionally and effectively prove a claim while using both hard and soft evidence.










We are excited to announce that Mrs. Esteppe is the recipient of a $325 Empowering Education Grant from the Eastern Illini Electric Cooperative! She plans to use the money to fund an egg incubator project to teach students about the life cycle of chickens.

8th grade students learned about Forensic Science this week! We even had special speakers come teach us about fingerprints! A huge thanks to our resource officers!
